Cultural Diversity

Culture refers to integrated patterns of human behaviour that include the language, thoughts, communications, actions, customs, beliefs, values, and institutions of racial, ethnic, religious, or social groups.┬╣ Core beliefs about health and disease are born in culture. Therefore, valuing cultural diversity is essential for health and wellness professionals to effectively communicate preventive measures and provide culturally appropriate treatment, thereby increasing the quality of life for all people.

Culturally Competent Programs

Canyon Ranch Institute works with our partners to customize and adapt program curriculum to meet the cultural, geographic, and health needs of each community. By honoring cultural diversity, we can advance health literacy to eliminate health disparities and ensure that all people have the ability and opportunity to embrace a life of wellness.
