CRI and the El Rio Community Health Center are developing a Canyon Ranch Institute Life Enhancement Program (CRI LEP) in Tucson, AZ. El Rio is the fourth organization to collaborate with CRI on the development of a CRI LEP, which is a dynamic program that aims to transfer the best practices of Canyon Ranch to underserved communities to prevent, diagnose, and address chronic diseases through an integrative health model. CRI Executive Director and Board Member Jennifer Cabe, M.A., announced the new program at the grand opening ceremony of El Rio's new El Pueblo Health Center. She cited the generosity of the Zuckerman Family Foundation, a non-profit organization established by the founders of Canyon Ranch and Canyon Ranch Institute, Mel and Enid Zuckerman, and their family. The newest CRI LEP, made possible by the Zuckerman Family Foundation, is another dream come true for Mel Zuckerman, who said, "Enid and I have made Tucson our happy home for 52 years. Our families – both the Zuckerman Family and the Canyon Ranch Family – are part of Tucson's history and future. Through this new program with El Rio, our hope is to reach even more people in our community than ever before. Canyon Ranch and Canyon Ranch Institute improve lives one person at a time by opening up a world of health and hope, and we are ready to take this exciting step with El Rio. We will continue to learn and grow together."
