Jennifer Urias has more than 25 years of experience as an accounting professional. She now leads accounting operations as finance manager for Canyon Ranch Institute, a 501(c)3 non-profit public charity. Canyon Ranch Institute catalyzes the possibility of optimal health for all people by translating the best practices of Canyon Ranch and our partners to help educate, inspire, and empower every person to prevent disease and embrace a life of wellness.
Jennifer earned a bachelor’s of science in accounting from the University of Arizona, and has worked in public accounting and large corporations. Before joining Canyon Ranch Institute, Jennifer was vice president of a successful general remodeling business, managing accounting, marketing, and customer service. In her 20 years with that firm, Jennifer helped grow the business from a small family enterprise to an award-winning medium-sized business. In 2012, she was honored with Northwest Explorer’s Successful Woman in Small Business Award.
Earlier in her career, Jennifer worked at Tucson Electric Power, where she was responsible for the consolidation of the corporate income tax return, including the statutory filing for more than 30 subsidiaries.
Jennifer is a strong believer in giving back to the community and is an active volunteer. She volunteers weekly at her children’s school, where she has also served as board member and president of the parent-teacher organization. In 2014, she was recognized with a National Superstar Volunteer Award by PTO Magazine for planning, managing, and implementing new fundraising events at the school. Her family also volunteers feeding the homeless, and Jennifer and her husband both coach children’s sports.
Jennifer was born and raised in Oracle, AZ, lives in Tucson, and is the mother of four beautiful children. Jennifer enjoys spending time with her family at the beach, cycling, reading, and camping.
